Fonterra Milk in Schools

On Friday we had our first carton of milk thanks to the Milk in Schools programme.  It was a huge hit, with everyone in the class trying it!  It was nice to have a cool drink for brain break.

We learned how to fold our cartons correctly so that they can be recycled.

Soon we will upload a video of how to fold the milk cartons correctly.

Feta Cheese

On Friday 15 November Miss Bolton brought some feta cheese to school.

The Fraggle Rock reading group had read a story about a boy who had feta cheese in his sandwiches.  No one in the group could remember trying feta cheese, so Miss Bolton said she would bring some for everyone to try.

Here are some writing we did about trying the feta cheese.

Robin wrote:
Today we tasted a different type of cheese called feta cheese.  It tasted like salty water, but cheese.  It felt slimy.  It looked nice.  The feta cheese was yummy.

Fonua wrote:
Today Room 8 ate feta cheese.  The feta cheese looked like a piece of vanilla cake and it felt smooth.

Today we tried feta cheese to see what it tasted like.  The feta cheese looked like a piece of a cake, because it was shaped in a square.  It smelled like ordinary cheese, but tasted different.  The feta cheese felt like melted cheese.  It tasted yuck because it was like salty water.

Swimming lessons

We have been lucky enough to go to swimming lessons at the Rec Centre.  The people at Counties Manukau Sport arranged instruction for our class and Room 6.  We go every Wednesday and Thursday.  There are 6 groups altogether and the groups have 30 minutes in the pool with an instructor.
Write a comment saying what you have learned so far at swimming.
